Festo has announced that automation specialist Wearside Pneumatics has won its ‘Premier Stockist of the Year’ award for outstanding performance in 2005. The award is presented to the company within the Festo Premier Stockist network that shows the highest level of commitment to strategic campaigns, demonstrable gains in operational efficiency, and the best sales growth of Festo products for the year.
The award was presented to Steve Robinson, General  Manager of Wearside Pneumatics, and Jacqueline Howe, Sales Office Manager of the company’s facilities in Washington, during the Festo annual resale conference in January. According to Stuart Gittins, Festo Sales Manager for Distributor and End-user Teams, “Wearside Pneumatics consistently achieves very high year-on-year sales growth, principally by providing an exceptional level of technical service to its local customer base in the north of England.”

This is the second award that Wearside Pneumatics has received from Festo – the company was also recently honoured for long service.

ATLAS COPCO

Washington-based pneumatic specialist, Wearside Pneumatics has been appointed as an Atlas Copco authorised compressor distributor, in the North- East of England.
Now a wholly owned subsidiary of Precision Pneumatics Ltd, Wearside Pneumatics has enjoyed a 30-year record of sales success as a major supplier of Festo components.
Commenting on the appointment, Wearsides General Manager and former Atlas Copco employee, Steve Robinson welcomed the synergy between the two companies: “We are delighted to be part of a progressive specialist organisation such as the Precision Pneumatics group. They have been an Atlas Copco distributor since their formation in 1990 and their compressed air systems product and service range is a perfect fit with our business experience and customer base.”

This new Atlas Copco distributorship will see Wearside responsible for all compressors and associated equipment such as dryers, filters, separators, drains, air receivers, pipeworking and installation.
