Clean, safe water is vital, yet over 660 million people worldwide lack access to it.
Fortunately, a Wearside Pneumatics customer is helping to combat the global water crisis by manufacturing economical and chemical-free water filters. GrifAid Aquafilters are portable and require no electricity yet can deliver high volumes of crystal clear drinking water.
The Aquafilters have been designed by John Griffith, a local Rotarian who worked alongside Aquabox, a Rotary project providing emergency aid products in developing countries. Aquabox now supplies Aquafilters in its emergency kits as standard, instead of chlorine tablets.
The Safe Water Trust
Following the sale of John Griffith’s business, he and his wife Gill have set up The Safe Water Trust a not-for-profit company based in Sunderland. The Safe Water Trust manufactures and markets GrifAid Aquafilters, which are now used in more than 40 countries worldwide.
The Safe Water Trust has engaged Wearside Pneumatics as a supplier of equipment and services to support its manufacturing, which is carried out locally. The company is proud to be working with The Safe Water Trust and supports its aims.
